lighting/electrical ?

i currently own a stock 08 450er. my question is: will the stock electrical system handle an additional headlight? if not what do i have to do.

i am looking at installing a 86/87 250r headlight on the bars.

the alternator output I believe is 200 watts on your 08 the stock 08 lites are 2 - 30 watt lites and the 87 lites are 55watts low beam and 60 watts high beam, so if you keep the 08 lites on high beam and the 87 lites on high then you would only use 120 watts, the tail lites are led and I dont think they use much but the fan motor is were you might run into trouble... im not sure what they use , is its under 50 then you would be all right

edit .... I think the fan draws 3 amps and the tail light draws 1 amp meaning that would be another 72 watts,



so to answer your original question is it will be very close but it should work the total watts used would be around 192 not includind the indicator lites
