Hi I just cooked a top end in the 88 250R, and was thinking of putting a cub banshee engine into my stock frame. Anyone have any pics of the conversion? I am skilled at machining and have lathe and etc to make this happen... any thoughts?

I think i remember seeing once and the motor looked really wide at the pegs. it sticked out past the frame and was a pain. Just something to think about.

I mostly ride frozen rivers and sand dunes so the increase in power is what I need and the cost of the banshee engine+horsepower is hard to beat.

So instead of spending $150 to do a top end you are going to spend thousands to put a banshee motor in with cub cylinders?

For the amount of money, why not just get a lonestar or whatever aftermarket banshee chassis with 250R geometry?

I can do it for about 1500 tops. a big bore cylinder is 1000 and less power.

$1500? A mostly stock banshee motor, carbs and a set of custom pipes, i think would cost well over $1500.

not a very easy swap. better off with an LSR outlaw chassis.

adds weight and is not stable. I would tend to agree with horsepower for cost, but not in a TRX chassis. Will look ugly and handle like sheet

Very few cubs in the world would run with my 250R...just saying

why not just buy a banshee for 1500 and spend 150 on a top end rebuild. now you have 2 bikes for the cost of one project.

you couldnt pay me enough money to put a Shee engine in my R frame.. ill take my big bore any day of the week.. a Banshee might beat me but a R engine is a way better all around dunner. :blah:

why would you want to ruin a perfectly good 250R. top ends go out... it's a two-stroke remember.
