can this be done by myself with a press that we use to press bearings(truck and bus use)i got a yz125 that needs a new barrel. looks like i can get a slieve on ebay for 100$.

maybe, you REALLY have to have it lined up PERFECTLY. also, the block will need to be heated in order to get the old one out and put the new one in.

ah my press is home made. big hydraulic ram welded on a big frame. i guess ill have to send the head to be pressed out professionally

My Cousin claims to have heated his up in the stove and then pressed it out and pressed the new one back in, then froze it.

You will also have to port match the new sleeve to the cylinder. Its just not as simple as dropping in a new sleeve.

my 84 tecate 3 had a nikasil cylinder. my buddy bored it out, we heated the cylinder in the oven and froze the new cast sleeve in the freezer, then dropped it in. it'll have a lip on the top so all you have to worry about is twisting it to line up with the ports as best it can. expect a little grinding to get the ports matched up.

i researched and i think its best to send it out to get it re-plated by professionals
