I am going to buy an '01 400ex tomorrow from original owner, with title. Bike is literally like new. No rust, dents, cracks or even dirt. Says it has less than 10 hours on it. My question is should I be concerned with the lack of use? Such as seals and gaskets? He said he drained the fuel lines when it sat. Anything in particular I should look for with this little use? Pretty much stock except for a pipe. Thanks.

1st off it probably has more hours on it than that haha they all claim less.

2nd off as long as you're not paying more than about 2 grand for it, you're safe.

Yea I dont think it has too many hours on it. Paying $1700.

Check for play in the rear, if it has some you need new bearings which isnt a hard job but it isnt fun either.

Is that something that would go from lack of use? I was more concerned with gaskets and seals.

I thought the price was on the high end for an '01 but the other 400''s I looked at that were newer were no where near as clean.

Listen, don't worry about the gaskets and seals. That shouldn't be your worries... They aren't going to leak or anything. If you take off any of the covers, you will have to replace them anyway. I wouldn't not buy it because it has one leaky $10 dollar gasket.
