Mx Cams

I'm looking at getting a cam and was told the cam to get was a 02 crf450 cam but I can't seem to find one anywhere for sale, so I was just wondering if the hot cams stage 2 or any other cam would be as good or should I just keep looking for a crf cam?

the stage 2 hotcam is a good cam. It will make a little more power then the CRF cam. Its up to you on what one you want to go with, both are great for mx

i like the sparks mx cam myself, ive heard its just a overpriced crf cam but its a good cam imo

the sparks drop-in cam is a 02 CRF, same with baldwin's drop-in mx cam.

I have a Hotcam Stage 2 in my motor that is for sale and it was always good to me

i guess its good that i got my sparks cam for 120 instead of sparks high price.

Dude they are not hard to find. walk into any honda dealer and say this. "id like to order a 2002 honda crf450 stock cam" once you say those magical words they will order it. its cheaper than any Hotcams, baldwin or sparks cam.

What years does the 02 crf cam fit in? Will it work in an 08?

it will work in all except the 08+ ER models. The ER in the 08 comes with an internal decompression mechanism. You can however buy all the decompression parts from the other models and use the 02 crf in the ER carrier, you just need all the pieces
