View Full Version : Coolant in tranny?

so im losing coolant and its goin into the tranny. question is where? im guessin through the water pump area, is there anyway to tell or check? or just take off water pump cover and make sure everything is in there correct? any other idea's?

About the only way for water to make it to the tranny is via the pump seal. Id bet money that is what it is.

Should be able to replace it by pulling the pump cover. I cant remember if you have to pull the clutch cover off or not. I have never put one it an R.

If your oil looks like milk, then it's the mechanical seal. They're tricky to replace, but it's not rocket science. Just be careful seating the new one.
