450r carb hot start.......

I just purchased a 450r for my ex, i just noticed the hot start plunger is not in the carb. I know i dont need to use the hot start, but im not sure if i can just plug the hole? I have read that you need to plug the hot start cable and to leave the plunger in. Can anyone help.

leaving the plunger in and just plugging the outside boot is the easiest method. it can be done without but the consequences of not doing it right can mean that the carb is junk since you might not be able to get everything out to put a plunger in. my vote goes to just adding the plunger and the boot then plugging that. steve

you can just take the cable off and leave the little plastic nut on. that nut is what holds the plunger and spring in. then just cap the nut with somthn so dirt dont get in it.
