I am looking to do my own rebuild this winter by myself for the first time and i have some questions..If i follow the service manual it tells me to take apart evey single piece of the motor.is that really necessary or certain parts that are not being changed can remain.second is what tools are mandatory bc once again if you follow the manual it tells you to buy everything under the sun which im sure would make it much easier but not really sure if its necessay.

my friend did it with all the basic tools in a average garage.
but he also used to work at a quad/dirtbike shop.
i took notice he ziptied the trans gears forks and ect. so they would not move at all when he was doing the crank.
and i always hear freeze the crank bearings and heat up the case and the slide in with out hitting them with a hammer.
