I am contemplating building a blaster hybrid to run some mx practices just for fun not really anything to serious. First off im wondering if its possible to build for around 2000-2500? Second im wondering what motor to use? And lastly if anyone has info on how to setup swingarm and suspension with least amount fab work please share. Just trying to get as much info before starting the project or before I get myself in to deap. Thanks.

Would a different frame be easier to use like a 300ex or something I want to keep it light just wondering if a 250r or 300ex frame would work better??

what kind of motor do you want to use? 2 stroke or 4? Personally i'd just build up the blaster motor. A well built 240cc motor will scream enough to get you around the track in a hurry if you have good enough suspension on it. Thats really the limiting factor with the blaster..

any hybrid using the blaster chassis is gonna suffer big time. I'd buy a 400ex, 250r or 300ex complete chassis and build up around it.

I was leaning towards a 300ex frame as well just for the fact that square tubing is much easier to work with. My buddy has a 250f motor that needs a crank kit and piston but im still wondering the benefits of running a 250f motor over just a big bore 300ex motor. Is there any benefits other than the 250f will rev out quicker?

well i dont see the 300ex being any better suspension wise than the blaster, but the frame would be a little easier to modify. A 250f motor would rev higher and faster than the 300ex, but they require a boat load of maintence to keep running up to par.. And would require having to mount a radiator and hoses.

thanks guys, its still for sale. i really need to sell it bad right now, still wont take any less than 4500 tho, i just cant bring myself to go any lower. the person that buys it is gonna get fresh pc color of their choice on the frame, swinger, and aarms also. the pc on it now is a little beat up and i dont want to give the quad to someone with it looking like that
