If you’re going to race you need a chest protector for sure and get one that will work with the neck brace that you will need. I like the knee guards that go down in my boots to hold them in place.
A cheap kidney belt helps too, they also make shorts, kind of like bicycle shorts but they have padding that cover your hips and tale bone, and go under you pant.
It sounds like you have everything else.

As for that jacket you have, I’m sorry but it looks like crap. Not saying it doesn’t work but it’s weird looking.
Go to your nearest dealer that carries race gear and try stuff on and take note of the pricing. Then do some research and find a better price. Then call the dealer and give them a shot at matching the price. If they do mach the price you can run down and get it now. If not at least you know what you need and you can order it.

For me I strongly believe in wearing as much gear as you can and no it doesn’t really make it uncomfortable at all. In fact I feel naked without all the gear on. It only takes a few rides to get used to all the gear. Yes it is expensive even on the low end and you can spend as much as 2 grand on gear but for me it’s worth every penny.
And here’s why: first thing is no one wants to get hurt, secondly you can’t work and pay your bills when your hurt and you could lose all your stuff just paying the bills. And last but not least if you’re hurt you cant ride and have fun.

As for the chest protector if you race on a sandy track you can get away without one but if you get hit by a rock thrown from the wheels of a screaming 450, trust me you want the chest proctor. Also a good set of hand guards help to, that same rock can break your fingers if they hit you no the hand while riding. The chest protector is not designed for crashes but they do help in some crashes but they don’t protect your ribs though.

I recommend you get the chest protector and the neck brace at the same time and try them on and make sure they will work together. I’ve never used the ones you suggested but they look good. just make sure they will work with the neck brace.
