where can i find the 24 volt kit for a 2007 450er im wanting to battery for faster starting for xc racing anyone help me?

Dirtworks sells a nice kit. However, you can save yourself quite a bit of money if you just make it yourself. A little bit of wire, connectors, another battery, and a way to mount it, and your set. Either of these wiring diagrams in the link will work.

Check out the Ockerman kit. It is nice and puts the battery under the front hood, that way you don't have the extra weight hanging on the subframe.

i work on cat equipment that is 24 volt ive never heard of this mod on a quad will it burn up the starter? i know the newer e start R's are terrible starting so this sounds like a cool mod any more info thanks Dran

No, it wont. The starting system is the only thing that will see the 24v. By the time your pressing the start button, your already in the process of releasing it. It starts pretty fast. If anything, I would say its preserving the life of the starter.

Thinking about trying A123 battery packs. Been reading up on this on a couple RC model car and airplane websites.

as far as the a123 bat packs dont you need a balancer to properly charge all cells equally?

It's for electric start motors, not kickstart. It sends 24 volts to the starter, making it crank twice as fast.
