12:1 je 416. Cams, so no decompression. New battery 12.8v, tried 2 solenoids, 2 starters, both did the same thing. Both starters spun great with no load. Then would barely, barely turn the motor over. What do I need to do. I can pull start it fine, but will not start with the button.

What kinda battery is it? You probably need a busa battery as its a bit stronger.

Voltage has nothing to do with how well its going to start the motor. You need a battery with high "cold cranking amps." An R1 battery may do it but if not you can run a chopper battery. Harley/chopper batterys are about the same physical size but have about 350-450 cca's Which is more then Double the cca's of a normal atv battery. Only downfall is the $100 price tag.

I have the same build and my stock battery works just fine. Try a new battery if you have one.

I have a brand new hyabusa battery, yt12ab, I guess I'll
Be taking it back for a chopper battery

Just because it a new battery doesn’t mean it a good one.

Good luck on the new battery. I hope that works! I am betting it won't fix the problem.

New battery is a bike master. It's the equivalent to the yt 12 abs. From the local Honda dealer. It does better than the stocker. Stock one will crank it once then won't overcome the compression. This one will contine cracnking very slowly. Not close enough to start. Just don't know what to do from here...

When I tried to fire my engine for the first time after the rebuild, it did the same thing. That was using a NEW gsxr battery. I then hooked a car batt to it, same thing.. It took a good hour of cranking before the thing finally fired.. Im guessing since it was fresh, alot of the internals were tight. Pulled the plug out of it and it would crank NP. Put it back in, barley would..

yt12 has 185 cca's that should be more than enough to crank it. what cam you have in there? It have a decompressor?

I think Im going to try the 24 Volt system. Ive got 2 batteries, so Im guessing it wouldnt hurt to try it.

Wouldnt recommend it. I promise you voltage does not have that much to do with it. Just take a car battery and hook it up. The cheapest crap *** car batter is going to have 500cca. Hook it up with some jumpers, if that dont turn it over there is a problem with your motor not your battery/starting system.

THe motor turns over. I have 2 batteries at the moment. Stock and bike master with more cca. The stocker will usually turn it 2 times then starts clicking. The bike master will turn it over and over. Just too slow to start it

Pull it behind something, get it running. Then ever time you try to start it after the initial run, it will crank easier.. x 3 on a car batt. But like I said in my previous post, a car batt still had trouble.. Make sure all your grounds are good...

Can you push start it?

Does it turn if you turn the crank by hand?
