front shocks, what brand? good price? help!

hey guys im looking for some aftermarket front shocks, std travel. Im wondering what good brands are axis, works, pep,ect.?? and also how much they are worth? i was thinking around 200?? thanks for any help!

You wont find any custom shocks like that for 200 bucks even if they are blown. A good customs etup from elka is at least a grand if not 1500.

In that price range what you want are shocks off any year honda 450r, read more in the most popular 400ex thread. They are a rather simple bolt on with a little modification to the frame.

dude you sure about that? check the classifieds for standard travel front shocks.

Also your not going to find peps, elka ect for 200 bucks.. If you do that is rare.. They are big money...

Yes but they are stage one elkas, u can buy them brand new for around 500 so it doesn't surprise me to see them going for 250

For a good set of custom axis or elkas your looking at 600+ unless you find a decent deal

I would love to have a set of LT elkas or Custom axis but dont have the cash so i run houser silcast with resprug and revalved 450r shocks.

And 600 doesnt get you much in reality, you want the top of the line you wont get it for that new...maybe if your lucky used.

Like I said 450R honda front shocks work very well. I have mine and adjusted them properly and it rides great.

Just keep your eyes peeled it can happen, I bought my front and rear end both at half the price of new so it can happen.
