Just got an ipod, and when I plug it into my laptop, it says "connected, eject before disconnecting". What does this mean? I have never worked an ipod before now. It is an 8gb with a small screen. do I have to download anything?

Did you try holding the play button down? If it doesn't come on, that's probably the reason you found it lol.

exactly lol. try holding the center button and the menu button at the same time. that resets the iPod. if it does nothing when you do that, there is a reason you found it.

you don't have a choice you have to download itunes, that is the interface of syncing up your ipod.

Its free just download it and then transfer your music over

it really doesnt take a lot of knowledge to work an iPod. you literally download iTunes off apple.com or with the CD that comes with your iPod, and you plug it in, the computer does the rest. iPod's really are about the sweetest things ever. They are worth every penny.

I would download it, I just don't know if theres anything wrong with it since it only comes on when its plugged in and says to eject it. maybe its like locked or something until it gets "ejected"? Ill try when I find a charger for it

Plugging it up to the computer USB should be charging it. It's possible that you need Itunes for it to charge. If the battery is dead, it won't do anything, like you are describing. If you take a couple of minutes to download Itunes, you will know if it works or not.
