what is the best blasting material for a cabinet blast sand blaster? I want to strip PC from aluminum and steel parts. I have been told walnut shells or glass bead. I use some soda blast media and it wasnt cutting nothing but spray paint off. Im thinking 80 grit walnut or 80 grit glass bead

You need to use 80 grit but no glassbead. Glassbead impacts and clogs the metals pores and will cause loose of adhesion with several types of coatings. Black beauty s what I use, very agressive but still wont remove PC very easily.

I would look into soda blasting, it can do some amazing stuff. Ive seen it remove powder coating, rust, etc and it doesnt harm the metal like more abrasive things.

Eastwood has it, just google black beauty abrasive

Soda doesnt do rust very well, and you need t change everything to 1/2 inch lines to use it. And moisture will clog your set up in a heart beat. In a home style set up, soda is not the best choice, Ive run a 180 psi compressor with a 2.5 inch line with soda that still wouldnt effectively remove powder coat. It is awesome on paint and thin metal though!

Shame soda blasting wont cut it, Ive seen it do cars nice but then again they arent powder coated.

after looking into a 25lb or even 50lb bag of media I should just pay a few extra bucks and pappy do it the way he needs it to PC. I know it might be easier and time saving for me to blast it but prb wont save $$ like i thought

i sandblast everyday. black beauty is the way to go if you cant get steel shot. make sure its a fine grit so your profile wont be so big. 2 to 3 mils

silica in most sands now is illegal due to respiratory issues

also a 100 lb bag shouldnt be more then 10 bucks
