I have heard that you can run the cr250 reeds and intake set up and gain performance over the trx250r set up is this true and if so I ordered them and they are smaller than the stock intake for a trx250r and the reeds are metal doesnt look as if it would flow as well as the stock stuff whats the deal here.

I ran a CR intake on my '88 R but used aftermarket R reeds. The CR intake is a little shorter so you'll have to move the carb./airbox up a little by making new mounts on the frame. The shorter intake seemed to quicken the throttle responce.
what year did you order,in nac's racing they sell the 96 cr 250 intake and it said to be th best year for it

WHOA hold up!!!
your suppose to use a spacer to get the reedcage to fit WITHOUT moving anything.
thats the set up I have.
I have a 96 cr250 reed cage with a spacer and there are no mods.
the spacer also raises the velocity of the intake charge.
everybody says the cr250 reedcage s the way to go, even lump-dog from esr racing says its better for mx than there reedcage
