this weekend while putting my fst style oilcooler on we drilled crooked and apretty much ruined my clutch cover, it is JB welded but if it ever lets go and no oil will get to my top end:eek:
I will try to post a pic to explain later
what do i do? i could take it to a shop and have it welded and then have papy powder it or does someone have on they replaced with a aftermarket one that they would sell? or will the JB weld hold? I will hopefull get the pic drawn up by tommorrow to explain it much better. Im not in a horrible rush but i m not sure i trust it to hold.

Although I have seen JB Weld do some amazing things, I would take the safe route, and have it professionally repaired, or replace it.

:confused2 jb weld is good stuff but have it professionally done, the motor is one of the things ya cant use the redneck fixers on
I've used JB Weld on 2 left case halves and the stuff didn't hold up like I thought it would. If you've got a very big surface to cover, or hole to fill, it chips up and breaks easily. I too suggest getting it repaired. MrP from this website has been running a JB Welded quarter on his Sparks 265 for a while now, but its not trust worthy.

jb weld or other epoxy can be used successfully , if there is no stress on the area. make sure you have the area somewhat rough, and by all means clean.
a weld job would be better but some times you have to improvise

if its welded, i will have to repaint it right?
anyone know what pappy would charge to powder coat it? or what color would look cool with a mostly stock looking red ex?

well ive looked up a new one $170
i talked to the guys in the machine shop at work and i might be able to get it welded at work for free, but you can never complain about free work if it doesnt work or looks like chit, and i talked to pappy and i believe that when i do it i will just coat the clutch cover, flywheel cover and my heatsheild probibably black
thanks for the help
