I purchased my first 250r about a month ago and with it came a box full of several extra parts. One of these is a carb which I believe is a keihin PWK carb. I just dont know what size it is and if it is worth replacing the missing parts on it to install it. There is some numbers stamped on the side of it but I cannot seem to look up what they mean or find out how to. The numbers are S66A1 MJ. Hoping some of you guys can help me out with this problem.

I think Keihin carb numbers are just serial numbers, they don't actually indicate carb size or anything.

What you need is a set of calipers and measure the inside diameter of the carb at the skinny end. That will tell you the bore size of the carb.

I believe the "S66" means that its a 38mm.

Well if its a 38mm I dont believe that it would be a very good carb for woods riding

Really? Cool.

I'm always ready to admit when I'm wrong, an apparently this time I was. I didn't think the carb size was in there. Of course, I never really bothered to investigate that fact, I always just measured the carb to figure it out.

I like finding out new stuff. Do you know what the other carbs are labeled?

Well I did some studying a while back on them. You can find some stock 38mm Keihin's that came on CR250's for a good deal sometimes. A lot of times its the stock number which can really be hard to figure out. Then you do have to measure.

All old Honda microfiche show carb number to verify ID, but this doesn't really help if you don't know what it came off of.

the carb you have is a 38mm air striker goggle pwk and go to sudco it will give you any info your looking for about carbs
http://www.sudco.com/keihin.html#PWK
if your interested in getting ride of it let me know Im looking for a a/s
you can tell its an airstriker by the wings inside the throat of the carb, the wings help the flow of air/fuel at low speed better then the non air striker, making it a good choice for woods riding

Yea it has the wings I just looked at it. It is missing a few small parts that I will have to order like the plastic idle adjustment. I guess I will get them and give it a try I suppose it probably uses a different throttle cable
