ok here gos i have a 2000 400ex i just rebuilt a few weeks ago im having trouble with it poping on deceleration,and pops back through the carb at times to.i am pretty sure i have figured out the poping but whant to run it by you guys first before i order parts.

my engine specs:
stock carb with honda stock jets 165,170,175
85.50 bore (.020)
manoura 11.0-1 piston
hotcam stage 1
airbox no lid uni filter
pro-curcuit t-4 pipe stock header (im in the process of repacking it,all the packing is gone in it.

here are some pictures of my intake manifold it is broke i do beleive,im not sure if this is suppose to come apart in two peices cant find anything on this.

do i need a new one?i think this is causeing my popping on deceleration,if it is suppose to come apart how can i fix it?if it is broke i will order a new one just need to know whats up with this.

problem #2

can anyone get me close on my jetting i have taken my carb apart and now know what i got in it from the previous owner.
i have these main jets here at the house-165,170,175
pilot is 38
needle is set on 3rd notch down from the top of the needle
dont know where to set the air/fuel?

thanks for the help guys,and im sorry for the 2nd post on jetting im just haveing trouble figureing this out,and now i have taken the carb apart to see whats in it.

I would def get a new one of those. it should be one piece. after that then start to tune it a bit. That will cause some major issues if that is leaking. i would say that the 165 would be pretty close. leave the needle, go 3.5 turns out on the f/a after getting it fixed. see how it does there.

ok steeve i will do what you say,and i agree with buying a new intake.
after i get a new intake on it, i will set my jets up exactly like you said to.

steeve do you think the stock pilot jet will work ok it is a 38?

i will make the changes you sugested and get back to you thankyou again.

the 38 may work out alright for you. My suggestion is just to get you close. I would assume that it will be a bit rich on the main with a 165 in there. it all depends on how your engine runs though. each one is different.

STEVE with 2 e's not 3 lol seriously though please spell it right if you are gonna use it 3 times. lol

also your vid sounds pretty good, sounds pretty clean right now but can get a bit better on the main imo :D steve

ok steve thanks i will try the 38 in it,and im sorry for my spelling and typeing skills.

i took the 400 out and it ran really good with the 175 in it but it is really rich,that might have saved my engine when the intake broke.when it come apart i kept rideing for like 4 more hours,i knew it was poping on deceleration but could not find the problem.

thankyou for the help,i was hoping you would help me on this thread. i see you help alot of people on here and know what to tell them to look at on their problems.
