My 2008 trx is stock I had an k and n filter on it but took it off because I've been reading that they come lean from the factory so I got a 150 main jet coming threw the mail this week. But back to my problem I put the stock airfilter back on and now sometimes wile I was riding earlier it was goin dead when I pulled the clutch? Anybody know why I would greatly appreciate any help.....espically on my jetting problem.
Thanks:)

let me verify that it is killing when you pull in the clutch and not going completely dead.

It will start up again after it shuts off?

if not then we have an issue with the stator possibly or some other wiring dilemma.

oh welcome to the site by the way. :D steve

If it is just once in a while, I would suspect that there is a short in your switches somewhere. either the one for the clutch kill switch, the bar mounted one or the key switch, but would suspect the cluster one first. it is hard to say exactly which one it is if it doesn't do it consistently. steve

yup, go to about 3.5 turns out on the f/a with the filter and the 150 and you should be good. probably a bit on the rich side but that will be ok when you get a slip on. you may not have to mess with it again when you buy one. steve

Ok thanks man been a lot of help I knew it prolly needed rejeting are do you think I should just leave it alone with my k an n filter on it untill I get my slip on then go up to a 152. In other words what's your thout on just putting my k an n back on an leaven it alone till my hmf slip on comes in then putting maybe a 152 main an 40 pilot ? What would you suggest the jetting should be....I'm bout 1000 feet elavation.

i would put the 150 in it now and then see how if it needs the change when you do the exhaust, it will probably need a 152 in it with that. It cant hurt with that little bit of change anyway. you can then change the pilot also and you will be set in case you want to do anything else too. you will then be able to go to about 2.5 turns out on the f/a instead of 3.5. steve

if you want you can put the pilot in too if it comes in along with the 150. just go out to 2.5 turns out on the f/a instead. then you will be good to go. steve

I didnt get the second part before the last post. once you get the pilot and such in, you can just take the 17mm cap off the bowl to change the mains. it is a 1/4" socket size that fits the main jets. it makes it so you can do it in about 5 minutes or quicker. you shouldnt have to adjust your f/a any more really unless you want it "perfect". you could mess with that every time you ride lol. i just leave mine though once i get it where it is good all around. it evens out with the good and bad lol it is a pain to do the f/a screw lol. steve

Ok thanks that's what I am goin to do is put the slow jet in when I put my main in. My slow jet is a 42 tho not a 40 will that effect anything are can just go in more on my f/a screw?

you can leave the f/a alone then. if it pops on deceleration just go out a bit to get it to go away. do that no matter what pilot it is. steve
