Nice ride! I have a 96 Cobra, let me know when you want to go for a cruise. I assume you are fairly local to me. (you run JR's graphics...correct?). I am in Denver.

Well I have never been a ford lover but last year my brother got a 07 mustang gt with a 4.6 in it and it runs pretty good if ya ask me. I like the styling and it drives great.
I got to drive it a few weeks ago and I liked it. It turns on a dime and I was coming up to a light and it turned green on me and I was still rolling about 30 mph and I turned off the traction control and floored it and it lit up both tires for at least 100 yards. But if you turn it back on it just hauls *** with no wheel spin at all.
So congrats on the new ride.

Why would someone put lowering springs AND Drag struts on it? sounds counter productive...

Seems about right considering they're 230 or lower stock. 2V 4.6's are weak and it takes alot to get good numbers. A full bolt on 2V 4.6 is lucky to get 275 and that's with headers. The thing is the 4.6's run awesome in the first place and once you start doing little things here and there, it's pretty easy to have a 13 second Mustang (The Edge). I had a 100% bone stock '99 GT 5 speed with 59,000 miles on it (bought it from a 56 year old lady who ordered it in '98), took it to the track to see what kinda track times it produced (new to Mustangs). My 1st run ever I got a 14.064. I didn't bring a helmet so I didn't want to really get into the 13's but my final run I tried my hardest and ended up with a 13.912. The following trip I took out the rear seat, added about $500+ of bolt ons and with the same stock tires and wheels got a 13.6. Kinda nice when yer buddy you race everytime has a '96 WS6 Fireturd with $3k in it and you run car to car with him lol. But like a retard, I took mine out of storage a few Febuary's ago and hit a patch of ice and bounced off a house and a few tree's.... Owell.... Your's looks awesome. I suggest a set of black Cobra R wheels if you like that kinda thing.

Mine is Black as well. I have Chrome Saleens on it. I am sure we know a bunch of the same people. I know a lot of the JR crew. I am right off the 222 Denver exit in Quail Hollow

I totally agree, and it has been gone since the day I shot that photo. The upside is that it puts 683 to the rear tires, so not many people see much more than a blur. haha

Not to start an arguement but in all seriousness I would love to know where that 3k dissapeared to hah. Cam and bolt on's only (less than $3k total) on an lt1 through a 6 speed is good for 320-370hp at the wheels depending on your setup. Infact I know of guys putting down over 400rwhp for around $3k on the stock block with no boost.

again not bashing, I dont mind mustangs at all. But your buddy either needs to do some research or learn to drive!

Is that really all you get out of 12 psi on a 4.6 with supporting mods?

IMO its a few and far between occurence for a 2V 4.5l Mustang with bolt ons will come anywhere near a WS6 with bolt ons, with out boost. I have a small block 350 in a '79 Monza Spyder and it has all the bolt ons that can be done and it makes around 300hp. I can't give a definite number because i did somethings after my first dyno run. My guess is probably 325hp. And thats what an LS1 Trans AM makes stock.

Belt slip. Get yourself a Reichard Racing upper pulley or have your current Procharger pulley coated by Carbinite Racing. They electrically arc on a tungsten carbide coating which really grips the belt. I wasn't hitting anywhere near 12 psi until I had my pulley treated.

thats pretty normal for a 4.6 2v. You have to think, they have around 235rwhp stock so a bump of 150+hp from stock is a lot, plus the motor itself cant handle but around 430rwhp stock and thats pushing it a good bit. I owned a 2001 GT, i know how horrible the hp is in one in stock form lol

Def. a good setup to use, but not needed at all at that low of boost levels with a good belt and the right tension. Make sure you have the correct size pulley combo if your shooting for 12lbs. Top pulley might be on the bigger side not allowing anymore without screaming the engine.

Make sure you can turn the motor over turning the bolt for the blower pulley. Alot of people over look the amount of tension these things need.
