Fat Guy On A 400ex

going to take my brother out for his first time. he is a big guy 425+ just getting him a helmet was a task. i put him on my wifes 400ex and it sags so much its only got about an inch before it bottoms out. can i crank the spring down to give it a little more stiffness? has anyone ever done this (big guy on a quad) ?

For a guy that size, adjusting preload isn't going to do much. It may help a little though. You would need a revalve and respring to even get it close to riding correctly. If he likes riding, he might want to look into getting something bigger like a KFX700, DS 650, or 700xx.
