Falling off sucks.

Id put this in trail tails as well, but no one ever posts there lol.

I finally bought some new nerfs, I had been holding out cause my lasts et is shot and I never rode hard enough to warrant it. Started to ride harder at a new spot and I thinks I need them lol

Today really confirmed I need them when I jammed not only my left foot-but my right foot between the pegs, plastics and wheels when riding.

Im fine, smacked my left shin up minimally and my right is good to go. I was riding and hit a few small whoops to hard and the backend flew to the left and I fell off the peg. Right side I just slipped off.

Also managed to fall off and had it roll sideways on top of me. Need to pick my lines more carefully. Now my damn foot hurts cause the clutch lever nailed it.

So I bought some alba nerfs, hopefully they get here before next sunday. Also finally bought my 16 tooth front sprocket.

FYI: Anyone wanting alba/tusk nerfs there is a seller on ebay who is 15 bucks less than rocky mtn and offers free UPS ground shipping- cascade_lakes_motorsports is thier username.

In other news, the 416 kicks butt, had plenty of balls to get around the dunes and pits.

Hehe I tell you what steve its not the power thats killing me imho.

Picking my lines is one issue, there is alot of nice drops around the trails and dunes and some of them you must come down a certain way or you will catch the side of a small bump or the sand will make you slide off, and go over. Also has to do with going WAY to fast like I like to do lol.. First time I went off that spot I flew 10 ft at least and landed and it caught me off guard.

Then theres the worn out front tires which make it hard to turn it properly as they tend to slide. I really need new tires but Im broke with no job and cant decide. Razr II's look nice, but so do the much cheaper dunlop kt331

Or, considering I fall at least once every trip from doing stupid things..maybe its just me lol. Course m my buddy who is way more expieranced then me falls quite a bit too lol...

First and only time I ever crashed mine, was a few months ago.
(actually, I crashed,.... but the quad DIDN'T !)

I was running the top of 4th down an unfamiliar trail,...
and came up on a sneaky hidden "wash" that crossed my trail.
The wash was about 2' deep, and about 7 or 8' wide.
I got the front end over the top of the other side, but the rear end didn't quite make it. so there i was doing a handstand on the handlebars,... ok,... that's fine,...
But the problem was,... I was still doing 40mph, and the quad was only doing 30-35mph.
"Houston,... We have a problem here".
In the next milli-second of time,... I decided it was time to let go of the bars.
I landed on my back, about 5' out in front of the Quad,...
Then the DAMN THING RAN OVER ME ! ! !

Hell, I think that is probably worse than getting shot with your own gun !

Bucket, CP, shoulder pads, elbow and knee armor, kidney belt, riding pants, boots, gloves.

didn't get a scratch on me and hit the ground laughing.
(but Hell Yeah,... I was plenty SORE for the next week!), I was hobbling around like an Old Man.
(Wait a minute,.... I AM an Old Man !)

Anyway, proper gear and equipment is a must!,
and nerfs are top of the list.

my nerfs have saved my "derriere" from getting hurt, ALOT more often than my helmet or any other equipment.
I consider them to be, JUST AS IMPORTART, as a "Brain Bucket" or anything else.

(and by the way....)
if you DO decide, to try doing a handstand, on your handlebars,....
take this advise,....

You NEED to be going the same speed, or SLOWER, than your quad is going.

My foot still hurts, its gonna be sore all dang week im sure. I doubt the nerfs woulda helped me, probably woulda hurt my thigh/leg cause without them my other leg was under the machine.

Look for new front tires too right now. Razr II look awesome. I need grippy fronts vs my sliding junks now.

Y'all gotta be careful.

I haven't posted here in a while due to lots of school and work lately but it's easing up a little bit.

Earlier today I went out riding with my buddies and I was the only one on a quad. We were out in some skidder trials and there was this one that was just a straight line up a hill. I looked at it a little bit first and noticed that there was a rock wall at the top but that didn't phase me.

I put the quad in first gear, put my left foot on the grab bar, and began wheelieing up the hill. It was extremely bumpy and more uneven than I thought but I didn't think anything of it.

I then hit a series of small stumps that directed my rear, left tire into a larger stump. When the tire hit the stump it threw me off of the quad. I did a flip and a half and when I looked over at the quad it was stopped up against a tree.

That scared the crap out of me but me and the quad were alright. Oh yeah and I made it over the rock wall at the top, gotta love the torque of the 400ex.

For some reason when I read this I couldn't help but laugh.

I slipped on a peg last weekend and caught my foot between the tire and nerf (no heel guards). I was going slow and it didn't hurt at all but i've made up my mind to get some boots to ride in. Unfortunately, my budget for the next little while is pretty tight..Just bought a second 400ex and a set of 450r shocks. :D
So the boots are going on the Christmas list.

I had the same problem at the Sand dunes but I don't have aftermarket nerfs... I was pulling wheelies in between whoops because there was a huge road of them and I pulled it up to far and it went left really quick.. Hit my right foot on the ground and scared the living crap out of me

yea me and my friends got a new nickname for CJM it Flippy b/c in the last idk 5 to 7 trips in a row he was flipped or rolled his quad at least once.

i might even be a little disapionted if the next trip we go on he breaks his streak

THIS IS EMBARASSING but......i did about this same thing on a tiny little jump....lol, came out of the corner in 2nd gear, got it revved then shifted to 3rd then hit this tiny little jump (like 1ft. tall, pretty much a kicker) and i must not have had it revved enough or my engine cut out, but i jumped and came down on the front i think then did a handstand on the handlebars and slammed my face into the ground and my body rolled about 20ft, and i got hit by my fourwheeler(this isnt the first time its ran me over) and then my helmet came off somewhere in the mix(i dont strap it, but i do snap the little button) and ive been sore for over a week now, and with all my total wrecks. ive never broken a bone, but i do have plenty of soreness in my hips and lower back, and im only 15. i did learn that i need to strap my helmet :)
