rings or valve seals ??

any way to determine if smoking is from the rings or valve seals?

after it warms up most of the smoking quits, if that helps

Valve seals, if it was rings it would smoke even after being warmed up.

rings- smoke all the time

seals- right at startup most and under hard accelerations all the time.

do a compression test and a leak down test if possible. that will tell you which are bad. low comp test rings, bad leak down test seals.
