Does anyone know if fr shocks off a 400ex will fit on the 700xx,
I'm about to upgrade to 700cc but hate to sell the ex with good elka shocks on it if I can re-use them on my new ride. I realise they may need to be retuned/revalved for the different weight etc just need to know if they will physically fit.
cheers...

priesty your best bet would be to send them to an aftermarket company such as gt thunder or whoever and have them rebuild it for the 700xx it would be cheaper then new shocks and wayyy better then the stock front 700xx suspension which sucks my friend has one and thats the only thing he complained about haha

agreed with B. the ds ones are longer than the ex ones. so it is most likely a no go with out sending them in to get redone. steve

lol umm well it was my understanding the guy asked if he could use 400 ex shocks on a 700xx not ds 450 shocks first and foremost second if youve ever had a shock rebuilt youd know that they can change the length fairly easily so please research b4 you try to give people advice

if you would use your head, they are saying that the ds ones work on the 700xx...and they know that ds ones are longer than 400ex...so that concludes that the 400ex shocks will not bolt up to the xx without sending them in

gahh some people kill me

some people should keep there advice to themselves is right your telling the guy to go out of his way and buy ds450 shocks when he can get the shocks he has made to fit the 700xx and perform better then the ds450 shock for less money but what do i know i only actually read his question...

NOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW 400EX AND 700XX SHOCKS COMPARE!!

HOWEVER THEY KNEW THAT DS450 SHOCKS FIT ON A 700XX!!

THEY ALSO KNEW THAT DS450 SHOCKS WERE LONGER THAN 400EX SHOCKS!!

THAT RESULTS IN A CONCLUSION THAT 400EX SHOCKS WILL NOT BOLT UP TO THE 700XX....

they didnt reccomend ds450,,,they just used them as a comparison tool to answer the guys question

:eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:
