06' ltrs

My buddy is going to look at an 06 ltr. I remember hearing something about 3rd gear on the 06 is there any other problem spots?

third gear has been a hit or miss issue on all the ltrs more so the 08 ups....if you race or ride really hard is when its likel to break....but there are some ppl that ride hard and have never had a problem and there are some ppl, while extremely extremely rare that trail ride and have had it happen.....hit or miss like i said

Well said, Anybody that races(MX) an 08 LTR, 3RD gear will fail.In most MX race quads, 3rd gear is race gear.06-07 Trannys are your best bet.Even with 06-07 check your tranny gears before next year race season.
