does anyone know how tight to tighten the five bolts on the clutch basket of a 400ex. it's those 5 bolts that have springs on them. thanks!

The correct way even according to the manual is "snug" What does snug mean?

Snug means you use a 1/4 drive ratchet and make them tight. If I had to pick a torque value it would be less than 15-20 ft-lbs.

I tightened mine "snug" in a star pattern to make sure they were evenly tightened.

No problem. Just take your time doing it and like I said "snug" if you over tighten them your gonna have fun getting the busted pieces out.

ya that would suck. so better slightly snug than somewhat tight. so they won't come out if i just snug them huh?

Shouldnt. I didnt have any issues.

Tightening them is a feel kinda thing, you just gotta know whats enough really.

okay so i'm guessing youre still at work lol anyhow so i'm gonna tighten them to the point where i can't tighten them any tighter with my fingers then i'm going to stick my 1/4 inch rachet on it and turn it a 1/4 of a turn what do you think?

should be fine, like I said snug. Trust me when you do it you will know, dont over stress on it.

Im home now, lost my job so I got alot more free time.
