You know, it is sad to think that my riding mower has more horse power than my 300 EX. Is ther a way to comvert my Koler engine to a 300 frame?? j/k

it's around 17 for a 300ex and around 15 for a 250x.

the 300 has 17 stock and the 250 is like 14 or 15

On my whitebrothers dyno chart a 1992 250x with a STANDARD wiseco it is 12.6hp On a 250x with an aftermarket wiseco it is 16.7 so there u go it doesn't give 300ex dyno though.

with a pipe/air box mod/filter/jet kit you might see 21..


along with that, do porting, valve job, cam upgrade, high comp piston you would see 26.

you could do a 330 kit, and a carb upgrade you'd see around the high to mid 30s. you could do a 352 stroke kit, and get low 40s.

The 300ex can be a powerful bike if you spend the time on. BUT BUT BUT in stock form a midly modded motor(the porting valve job, cam piston, pipe air box/jet kit) you would be in need for some better sususpension and some +2 a-arms, +4 axle to keep it under control.

Its all about what you want to do! Have fun with your quad, make it unique or go ride what everyone else does, either way you will have a blast!

A 1986 honda atc200x puts out 18. My friend has one and we dragged last week I jumped out in front by 10 yards and after 200 yards we were dead even then we had to slow down for a turn. That 6th gear makes it rip though. More hp from a riding lawnmower than 300ex? Our Cub Cadet puts out more hp than a 400ex! 28hp and it tops out at 16mph:devil

250x 15hp stock, seems quicker though than a 300ex maybe its just my imagination, but my brother's 250x is definitely a lot faster than a 300ex

no offense dude but my uncle just sold a brand new condition 200x 3 wheeler and my dad and i drag raced on a gravel road behind his shop when my 300 had just handlebars, tires, and thats it. the 200x had xct rear tires with >160s i have >190s which are heavier and i got him from start until high fourth gear then we had to slow down and i was 2 bikes in front of him in the begining and about 4 by the end....
my dad is only 30 pounds heavier than me

I wasn't saying it can't be done. **** i'm sure everyone by now has seen the vid of the civic smoking a viper. I'm just saying more than doubling the HP of a quad usually isn't easy. What all was done to that EX?

Back to the original question though. Do the 330 kits really put out 35-40hp with just the kit and a carb? I just found that hard to believe. If so, how much do these kits cost? I know a certain someone with a 300ex that needs more power.

no offense dude but my uncle just sold a brand new condition 200x 3 wheeler and my dad and i drag raced on a gravel road behind his shop when my 300 had just handlebars, tires, and thats it. the 200x had xct rear tires with >160s i have >190s which are heavier and i got him from start until high fourth gear then we had to slow down and i was 2 bikes in front of him in the begining and about 4 by the end....

No offense taken. We were dragging on snow. I was launching in third with some wheelspin and he would wheelie off the line. I'd say he's got about 10mph over my 300ex with that 6th gear IMO. The longer the race I think the closer/farther ahead he would be but I'm not a really good drag racer either.

with a 330 kit, i'm takling a f ull job, porting polishing valves, cam hard weld rockers.the whole 9 yards not just boring out your motor and putting a new carb on it.

My 330 will rip up, but it is for sale in the classified section if anyone is interested )

13 i find very low. Poor 300.. sniff sniff. I think my self propelled lawn mower has more hp than that..

A 300EX with oversized valves, aggressive cam and a huge bore and stroke job on it will beat a stock banshee.

So yes, a $7000 300EX will beat a $5500 banshee.
