Ive got a low hour hybrid with a yz444 kit in it. The crank went out of it so we replaced the crank, rod, piston, rings. Put it back together and fired it up. Right from the get go it had a noisy top end from the first time running on. Put about 1 hour on it of easy running and pulled it back apart. Found the piston would not move front to back on the wrist pin. Pulled the wrist pin and found it had almost siezed. Piston is shot around the wrist pin hole. No other damage. Crank still works like new. What would cause this?

Thats what we thought as well, Pulled the oil filter and kicked it over a few times and the oil poured right on out. There was some metal in the filter as well. We are going to pull the motor out and start pulling it apart again

had a similar problem with my 04 yz 450 motor turned out to be a cracked wrist pin caused by Wiseco using junk tawian steel any one that cares owes it to themselves to buy a quality piston such as CP or JE they use a coated and hardened wrist pin
