So I was thinking of modifying a couple mag lites for a headlight setup and I was wondering if anyone else has some good tricks for headlight setups on the cheap. I was thinking of just using a battery pack to power the lights. Would work pretty good gor all the more I ride at night. Also can someone post a pic of how the 86 headlight mounts up on the bars?

go to wal mart or auto part store u can find fog lights for a car which u can find relativley small for bout 20-30 bucks re rout ur wires down toward shock tower and they will mount up to top of shocks! looks sick and far cheaper then trail techs and looks better then stock setup

I used an OEM 86-87 style and mounted it to my bars, worked great for night riding. I attached a couple of pics.

woah, how did you do that? I've been trying to figure out how to use the 86 headlight with aftermarket stem.

it looks like you arent using the mounting frame?

Pics from setting on the quad please.

It's pretty easy, we used a piece of aluminum that Troy had, the aluminum bolts to the stem, then I mounted the light to two brackets that came with my maier plastic that I flattened out. I'm sure Pumashine could fab us something that looks more appeasing (hint), but this setup held up very well.
