Really? There was a thread earlier and I was told I had to modify the plastic to make it fit my 04. I am looking to do the same thing. TJ Bradley, have you done this before? I am assuming I would have to use 07 450r plastic to work right? Any info would be appreciated. I have held off ordering plastic because I am not sure if they would fit.

I bolted 07 white plastic right to my 05 bike. only thing i had the change was the kicker piece. But if you get 08 white kicker plastics they should be a direct swap.

What change on the kicker piece? Is the front plastic different because of the gas tank cover? I know the 07 was just the plain tank. Any pics of the change of the kicker mod?

It just the plastic piece where the kick lever sits in. On the e start models they are just a solid piece instead of the place for the lever to sit in. Just change that piece out with your old one.

I had to change the heat shield under the gas tank on my 05 for the 07 whites to work on my kicker. I would assume for 06-08 plastics to go on you'd have to do the same. The kicker piece bolts directly to that heat shield. All you have to do.

Do you get both pieces when you buy plastic? I can't tell from the microfiches I look at. If I need to order the right one, does anyone have a part # for the white plastic from a 07?

I noticed on the 07 s that the radiator fins is a one piece design. My 04 is three seperate pieces. Does the 07 front fenders line up with my 3 piece fins? What was the reason Honda made them 1 piece?

Yes they fit. The holes are the same. Idk why they went with the one piece but yours will work.

the part number for the heat shield for an 07'(which works on 06-08 plastics for the kicker) is
PROTECTOR, TANK HEAT
17515-HP1-600

its around 30 bux

Thanks for the info. I am going to order the plastic with the new shield. I will order from a 2007 Kicker Model. Correct me if I am wrong, but the rear fender will have the right piece for the kick start since I am order from the kick start model right? Thanks again for the info.

Yes they will fit if they are for a kicker. Im not 100% but i dont think they made a white kicker in 07. Look under 08 for the kicker ones. And you dont HAVE to have the shield. Untill i got my new 08 i have never ran the sheilds. You may have to zip tie your plastic to the frame under the tank to keep it tucked in and from catching your knees. But if its only 30 bucks id get it.

I looked up the miofice at Service Honda. White was available under the kicker model. Should the part # of the rear fender be different from the kicker versus the estart? Or do you get both pieces to make it a kicker or estart when buying the plastic?

I was just saying i dont think they made a white 07 kicker. But i may be wrong. And when i got my white e start plastics the rears came in one piece. So i would assume the kickers would as well.

Honda has different part # for the kicker verus the estart rear fender. 08 has different part numbers from 07 on all the parts. Honda is definitely making it a little confusing with all the different part #. I am going with 07 Kicker parts. I have asked a lot of questions. Thanks for all the answers. Nothing beats someone who has done it before. Some dealers have no answers for my question.

Stick with 07 part numbers and you will be fine. Here's the number for the rear:
FENDER, RR. *NH196* (ROSS WHITE)
80100-HP1-930ZA

and here's how they look on your 05' (pics of mine)

the front fender and kicker fender piece both have to bolt to that heat shield if i recall

Is that a aftermarket gas tank? It looks to be a bigger capacity than stock. Looks good though. My 04 plastic doesnt mount to the tank heat shield though. It mounts to a bracket on the gas tank. Thanks for the pic.

Curryd, the 05' mounts that way too, but u have to get that heat shield for an 06-08 to go under the gas tank for the 06-08 plastic to mount to. I am using the original black 05' tank and bought a white 08' cover to go on over it. If you are doing tank graphics it's a good idea because otherwise the gas in the tank causes the glue to come un stuck. an you have to use a dremel tool on the tank tho in a couple of spots to grind it down a lil on the inside for it to fit better, and to also grind off the tabs on the bottom (see pic). u still have a lil gap between it and the white plastic on the bottom because it doesn't fit perfectly but i think it looks awesome and u really don't notice it due to the tank being black.
