First off, new to the site and lovin it!

Ok, so I may be buying a co-workers quad. It is a 1989 250X frame and chassis with a used 2001 300EX motor, top and bottom end that he will sell to me for $300. Only problem is it needs a wiring harness.

My question is where would I get a wiring harness for it? I think the 250X is a kick start and pretty sure the new motor has electric start so IDK if that will make a difference.

As you can tell I am clueless on this stuff lol so and advice would be appreciated!!!

E-BAY Has USED wiring harnesses for the 300EX from $50.00 to $80.00 And you will need a CDI box for a 300ex too E-BAY has them from STOCK cdi for $25.00 to $100.00 Plus.

Cool thanks for the help!

It would be better for me to just get a stock one than an aftermarket performance one, cause it doesn't have anything done to the motor except for a full exhaust and an intake Right?

For trail riding stock CDI. If your racing I don't know. And your full exhaust is it stock or a aftermarket upgrade. If stock it's OK but if it's and upgrade you may need to keep your eye's on your spark plug make sure it doesn't run lean. If the bike is new to you.

I ride almost entirely woods, rarely at the track and it has an FMF header all the way back also. I'll go with a stock one and keep an eye on the plug then... Thanks for the help!
