Just installed a 440 kit and need help with the jetting. I looked on here and found what most people are running, so that is where I started. I have the stock needel on the third clip, 2.5 turns out on the air screw, 42 piolet and I have went from a 190 main to a 200 and now at a 212 and it still is too lean. And what I mean by lean is plug is allmost charcoal white and it pops and back fires when going from 3/4 to no throttle.Any help please. I am running stock header with an HMF slip on, no air box lid.

put a bigger pilot in it until it quits popping. I suggest a 45 at around 2.5 turns out on the f/a. or even take your 42 to about 3-3.5 turns out. you are most likely getting false plug readings cause the pilot is way lean. steve

you can tune your f/a properly using the methods outlined in that. steve
