need advice on a trade

so my dealer has got in a 06 450r, the 450r needs a complete rebuild, so they are rebuilding it, pumping 500euro into the engine, it has no headlight, stock tires with wheels with one big dent on the front right, the plastics are very rought on the rear, lots of rust dots on the frame and a-arms, it has a lsr axle and spacers in the front. xfactor nerf bars, torn seat, bent tie rod, i went throught this quad because i was the one who stripped it down and sanded the frame. they will paint that. my question is. is it a good idea to trade my 300ex for it. i know the engine will be practally new but there is a risk of it not being together right, should i trade my 300ex in to the faster 450 or keep my bulletprouf 300ex. thanks kevin

if you wait till its together will that be too late? i would see how the 450 turns out if you can, if its alright then go for the trade

its not going to sell quick.. but what im afraid of is if the 450r isnt built properly and it would be no where as good as condition as my 300ex

if you still have some of your old stock 300 parts strip down the 300 and then trade, if you can! and use the money from the aftermarket to bring the 450 up to your standards


or sell yours outright! and pick up a 250r there have been some real great deals lately on some real sweet 250rs in the classified section!!

I picked up a 250 again and it will give my built 450 a run, and the 250s are so light in the trails you can ride all day without completely getting worn out

yes i plan on keeping some nice bits from my 300ex to trade, but what im unsure of is if i should trade for the 450 against my beutiful 300

I think if it was me! I wouldn't trade!I would sell it for as much as I could get, then pick up a nice looking quad either 450 or 250,

Im just building my 250 up and its much cheaper to get some serious increase in power compared to the 4 strokes, but I still do love my 06 450 but I got around 15000 into that, if I spent a quarter of that on the 250 it would be unbelievable

see the thing here in ireland is that its impossible to sell anything because of the economy. this would be me best way to get a 450, or else i could just save up but that wouldnt be my favourite option

then if there arnt that many around, if your 300 is mint and the 450 is beat then definatly take some of your aftermarket parts and take the trade

well yeah ill keep the universal parts from the 300ex, but is it worth it, a mint slow 300 for a 450 with a new rebuilt motor in need of care?
