My buddy is looking to build a homemade Powder coating oven and wanted me to post a thread to get some ideas and some peoples opinions. If anyone has some homemade ovens post some pics and what you used such as sheet metal/old fridge/etc. Can you use the heating elements from a home kitchen oven and how big can you go before having to worry about even bake temps. How many burners does it take and will 220v power more than 2?

thanks

we built one 4 years ago too and still use it to this day. Its an old fridge with some industrial style insulation and sheet metal inside. 2 elements at the top and bottom and hook hangers across the top. We used the elements and controls from an old house stove. It will get up to 550 degree. Id say we have done 50+ frames in it and still using it almost every weekend.
