400EX Carb all same?

i went to order a rebuild kit and noticed 2 dif years, 99-04 and 05+ i know the plastics changed but the motor is the same so the carb would be the same right?

maybe the mfgs are doing this to cover there rear?

let me know please im not up todate on the 400's that much.

The older ones have an adjustable needle and a slotted A/F screw. In The newer carbs You need the special "D" shaped tool to adjust the A/F screw and the Needle is preset on the 3rd notch with no adjustment.

From 99-04 the carbs were 35.5mm and 04 and up were 38mm.
