Question on exhaust

ok i jus bought a 2007 trx400ex and it doesn't have a aftermarket pipe on it. Any suggestions on what i should get? Moneys a lil tight but i still want good performance. Also when i put the pipe on is there any other item i should put on the atv to make it run right? Thanks and if you have any pics that would be great. :)

I like my t-4 and q4 alot. the t-4 is more of a mid style pipe while the q4 is a lower end pipe. both are reasonable but the t-4 is 95 dB while the q4 is about 90 dB. if you ride very noise sensitive areas or your laws do not permit modifications, then the q4 is the way to go. good flow, great sound, yet very quiet. because of these factors, the q4 gets my vote. steve

Save Your Money.

Replace your front shocks FIRST.
(less money,.. greater gain)

then, if you are so inclined,
grind out your headpipe welds, get a good used slip-on,better filter, and re-jet.

A +6 key, and 450r carb are also good upgrades, on a internally stock 400ex engine.

(all of which can be done for about the same cost as a full exhaust system, ... With Much Greater Gains)

thank yall for all the info what about a yoshimura? does anyone have that on their quad? If i can't get a T-4 that prolly what i would want.

I have the full Yoshimura RS-3 system on my 2001. I love it. It fits awesome and sounds great and has good power.

The yosh will be my next experiment lol I would like to try one of those also to see how i like it. unless you have your heart set on an exhaust, ron has made some great points to do to the machine before you get an exhaust. The key being one of the better things for real cheap that could even be done with an exhaust. The shocks are also great too. steve
