Can a 450r outrun a 660 or 700 raptor??

Just wondering because i have a 450r and my friend is thinking about getting a raptor but wants to know whats faster

if your talking about bone stock then the raptor does have more top end, add some mods and it all depends on who wants to spend more money!!!

my 450r walks right by my raptor.. I dont know how well a bone stock 450 would fair out though.. I dont really like my raptor all that much.. its so heavy.

I can beat or keep up with most lightly modded 700's ( pipe filter etc.) the 660's are a joke they are no problem. My 05 450r has a full pipe, filter with no lid and a 12:1 piston.

MIne doesnt have a lid either what does that do and dont i need to buy another lid?

As long as you rejet the carb to account for the extra amount of air, it's a fairly noticable gain over running with a lid.

my 2 day old 06 against a 660 with pipe and intake..on asphalt..we did runs for about an hour and I smoked him every time..
now years later with a carb, cam, exhaust,no airbox on my 06,
my buddy bought a 700 raptor with a cam, high compression, no lid and k&n, full exhaust, and programmer and ignition module.. I smoke him worse now then I did before..

I have a 04 450r. I can run neck to neck with a 700 raptor. If anything, I might pull a quad, maybe quad and a half on it. Top end, I would say they are real close. Raptor might have a few more mph on top, but acceleration from 0, my 450 will beat it.

I ride a 450r with an HRC cam, full yoshimura exhaust, and no air box lid. I've never had a 660 pull away from me.

As far as 700's go, i've had modified ones pull away from me. But they've also had more $$ put into them than mine.

If you're talking about stock, a stock raptor is a lil faster then a stock 450r

my stock 04 pulled him every time.. but he did weigh quite a bit.

theres too many variables rider/ mods / who did the mods/ traction/ yes a raptor should beat a 450 but imo the 450's just have more potential for breathing and revving the raptors are for old guys who need reverse and a soft seat to cushion them!

I agree! Especially the revving potential. When you hear a raptor running down a drag strip it really doesnt get into those high rpm's like the 450's do, it just kinda sits at a mid rpm all the way down.

i just got a 08 450er and my buddy has a 08 700. i beat him by about a half a bike every time. but drag racing doesnt mean much. the 450 also handles a whole lot better. for a bigger person the 700 is the way to go. but for the average person 450 all the way
