I built my pilot-cylindered bike a few months back and hardley rode it, just to break it in. Well at that time I noticed it felt like my clutches were slipping pretty good. I knew I had new Honda clutches, cr springs, and a billet basket. So recently I roughed them up and put it back in and Im still having the same trouble. Im at 387cc, has lots of tourqe, Honda oil. Could it be just too much on the factory clutch. The owner before me has it on methanol before it blew up and the oem cluches were what he used with no problem. I also got another buddy at 370cc with oem clutch, no problems. What could be the problem, anyone?

You soak them in oil for a while before installing them?

never overlook the cable adjustments. also you might want to try some stiffer springs, they will have a better clamping force.

get you a barnette clutch kit

The fibers were soaked. Do you think the slingshot lock clutch will solve this? Whats the barnett clutch kit? I have the basket. Is it the fibers and plates?

another thing to try is the C-Leigh racing clutch mod.

Use CR500 springs, add one Aluminum drain plug washer to each spring back, start with one washer at each spring, if not enough; go to 2 washers at each spring…old HR trick.

On my 79HP 363R; I run Honda OEM clutch steels & fibers + one extra thick steel plate (similar to what Neil suggested, however; replaced one of the thinner plates for the extra thick one) + one Aluminum Drain Plug washer behind each CR500 spring…so far seems to be working good on a 79HP engine…

If CR500 springs, extra steel plate + 2 washers at each spring back is not enough; you have other clutch issues.

Carlos.
