I have a 450er 39mm fcr carb that i just sent out to get it bored. It is being bored to 43.5mm. Has any one had there's done and what was the gain in doing it ?

I havent heard of that in quite some time but what ive heard was on the stock carb with mixed results have you done a search yet?

it all depends on what kind of power you are looking for, you are mostly a drag strip guy im guessing so having it bored will help you out alot on top end where as having a smaller one helps on bottom end power, just make sure your porting is big enough to match it, and you might want to think about going with some over sized valves if possible to help the air flow through the top end into the cylinder alot easier, if your not looking for as much bottom end because your drag racing then this would be your set up, and a stroker kit would add alot of power too even if its on a stock bore
