85.5mm piston
10.1 compresssion
Stage 2 Hot Cam
Full HMF Stainless exhaust
KN air filter
Closed air box

Just bought and rebuilt...Got it back together and it's gotta need jetting. I know it is lean because the exhaust get's red hot when i ride. It lacks throttle response and tries to die when i hold the gas wide open. I have considered running an open air box if i can get more hp, it's just so dusty at times?

Any suggestions?????

i have a 2000 400ex

85.50 bore
11-1 piston
hotcams stage 1
stock carb
open airbox
uni filter
procircuit t-4 exhaust,stock header

im running a 175 main jet and it is rich, but that is where i want it for breakin on the new rings.
you should not run a new engine on the lean side
engine pulls from idle to full throttle with no problems at all, in neutral and through all gears.

dont know if this helped you but i answered it anyway

i suggest around a 168 main, 3rd notch on the needle, 42 pilot, 2.5 turns out on the f/a screw. just a suggestion though, it should get you on the rich side, i would say that your final should be around a 165. steve
