when i set the quad at ride height with my son on it the front wheels
are kinda pidgeon toed. the only way to fix this is to cut the tie
rods 1/4 inch on both ends to allow for adjustment. i did hear of
a new $tem they produced to help this but i dont want to have
700 tied up in two stems.

i'm sure someone has run into the same situation.

I was always told you have to run their stem if you use their A-Arms but i don't know that first hand. Someone may have a work around but watch for the bump steer issues.

Had the same problem when I got my DC a arms. Cut the tie rods down fixed the problem.

Hey Jim have you talked with Tom yet about it? There are a bunch of folks out there running the same stuff without being towed in. Every quad I have ever seen with that suspension seemed to have them dialed in. I havent purchased the a-arms yet but have several friends with it and they are squared up. Just check and see if the tie rods need to be trimmed.

can you put the pics up?

Cutting the tie rods is the only thing that makes sense.
I think we will be good then, I wanted to see if i was the only one that had to cut

We didn't cut ours. We run Tom's stuff.

Call Tom. Tom is very easy to deal with and will set you straight. He has corrected the issue. You will have to buy the newest steering stem and all your problems will be over. I believe the flag on the stem was relocated or changed.

Hey Jim,
You can give me a call if you want and I can try and walk you through it.

330/289-1423

This is what I need to know to better understand your situation:

Ride height w/ rider on it?
Shock length- eye to eye?
Tire size?
tie rod length?
caster/camber setting w/ rider on bike?
What year is the frame on the bike?
What steering stem?

Whether you are using our first gen. stem or gen II. You shouldn't be getting the tow in at ride height. This should only occur at full extension. This is due the the length of the upper A arm being so short and the tie rod pushes on the rear of the spindle pushing it out causing the "bump steer".

We have managed to reduce this issue with our newer stem. But as you mentioned you're not in a position to spend the extra money. Maybe it's just something little you over looked and we can get you set up right away.
