so the usps lost my cam chain in the mail and it isnt suppost to be here till next week, and im suppost to go on a monthly ride with my dad saturday.

What i bought was a 440 12.5:1 comp top end kit (that came with a stock replacement cam chain), a gasket set, a stage 2 cam, and a crf 450 cam chain.

My question is, can i install the top end kit and use the new stock replacement chain for a ride? From what i have read the stock cam chain sucks, and i dont want it coming apart and tearing up my engine.

Thanks for any help?

It will work so long as it isnt stretched. Im sure 1 ride wont kill it.

450R chain is thicker and has more links-thats why its better.

The stock chain is fine

you will be fine with a new stock chain.

It is not so much that the stock chain is weak, It is more that the CFR chain is stronger.

If you really want to ride, then put it on.
