What are my options for a ims style peg? I can't seem to find anything other than stock. Anyone have something they want to get ride of? I will be in the market soon.

I don't get it either...on 86 it seems like you mount them to the removable frame mount. And 88/89 they mount straight to the frame...which is the same type of mount, Just welded on instead of bolted on. So couldn't you just mount 88/89's on a 86 mount if you wanted too?

No the thru-pin mount on the 2 piece 86's are in a different location than the 89's I believe. I was wrong on that before, that's the only reason I bring it up. There is a thread on here awhile back about it.

For some reason it's seems as though no one has come up with a suitable swap for these pegs. I was told the 450 pegs work but that is false.
It' such a simple thing to make but I have yet to find anyone or anywhere on the net that someone used brand X peg and made this mod and it worked.
Guess this is my goal for this winter!

IMO.. IMS are the best pegs out there and looks like croat1 has 2 sets for sale made for the 86 frame (i.e. no mods needed), so I'm not sure what the issue is... cause they're not that scare, unless your trying to find something for free, LOL!!

Not looking for anything for free but anything over $100 for pegs...well I fell I can make somethign that will do just a good a job. I did it with the past two Quads I owned just haven't owned the R long enough to make a set.

I to feel the Ims ones are about the best out there. I have them on my 450, And wouldn't trade them for anything else. I just wish they made a 1 piece design is all....

The other idea I've seen is add those replacement foot peg extensions from the ProArmor pegs.
