is it even possible? i'd like yo paint them, even though they will only be on there for the next month or so

You need to be able to compress the spring a little so theres a small gap big enough to pull the bottom out.

I'm sure it is.. but i'd be very careful.... you'll probably need a spring compresser... but with the springs you need to remember they coil and recoil.. so the paint make crack and flake off...

course i don't have a spring compressor ha. i might have to rig something up tomo.

don't try to rig something... if what you come up with fails... it could be very dangerous.... find someone with a tool... some auto part stores have free rentals... or take it to a shop that works on cars... i'd imagine it would not be too expensze to have them compress it and take it apart to paint it..
