I know its nto a truck forum just seeing quick if anyone has ideas

i have a 02 chevy 2500hd 6.0 with the 4l80e tranny.

It runs and shifts fine, except probably 4 times this year, twice on flat surfaces and twice on hills, when i go from a complete stop, to hitting the gas and going it feels like the tranny slips for just a second, it feels exactly like when the tire spins on a wet manhole cover then grabs and im on my way, after i get going even if i floor it it shifts 100% fine, only other clue i have is for some reason my 4wd drive light is on all the time, when my trucks in 2wd...any ideas?

thanks

The 4L60E in my 1500 does the same thing. I believe it's one of the shift solenoids.

My 2500 use to do the same thing. Only did it a few times a year like you said.

I have the same truck and got the same thing once in a blue moon. (slipping from a stop).

I remember reading on a forum that this is caused by something near the driveshaft/u-joints/etc. I think that there is something spinning (strap supporting drive shaft?) that causes the problem.

I never fixed it and it hardly does it.

As for the 4x4 indicator. Could be the light/sensor...I have heard of those going bad.

I have been on desielplace.com, while there is not much on the motor for our trucks, the rest of it is pretty good info.
