electrical prob???

my battery went dead so i bought a new one. i charged it and put it on. hit the start button, nothing, the lights wont turn on either. i coast started it and then let it idle, when it is started and idling the light will come on but i turn it off and it does the same thing over. any ideas are appreciated

check the fuse down by the battery. i would suspect that it is blown out. steve

Fuse. Once you replace the bad one make sure the lights are turned off. Then see if it starts up. On a lot of 400ex's including mine the wires that go to the head lights can get worn from the brake line and will blow the fuse every time you turn the lights on.
