hey guys, just curious what a fully functional 250r usually brings in when parted out. any idea on price for the following items:
fully rebuilt running motor?
frame?
electrical system?
brake systems?
swingarm/axle?
rims and tires?

search the threads and classifieds. should be an abundance of information there. ;)

I'm just wondering if it's easier to sell parts rather than the whole. I'm lookngfor 2000 out of my r, only able to get offers around 1300. Don't know if I can make more than that parting out.

location? any pics?
Seems like more money in part outs verses whole vehicle sales…
The negatives are lots more work, selling each part/component, dealing with buyers, getting paid, and breaking down a perfectly good 250R…

if it doesn't meet reserve its getting parted out:

If your reserve is over $1500; you might want to start parting...
Bad economy yields low prices.

I honestly think you'll see less money parting it out. Most stock parts are worth less than the price to ship them.
If you need cash, you'd be better just dropping your price and moving it rather than spending tons of hours on a part out and possibly not seeing the full amount after sitting on parts that don't sell.
If you look at it in time vs money - what do you have more of?

Parting out is usually a little more money, and a LOT more time.

From the way I understand it most bikes that are heavily aftermarket built are better to part out and most stock bikes are better to sell whole. If you HAVE to sell it figure on getting about $1500 for it. Otherwise sit on it till income tax time.
