Hey guys, so i am finally ordering some parts for my engine build. Here is what i have got going on. I looking for any input or ideas? or things you would or wouldn't do. I don't wanna spend to much money on stuff that won't help much, but i want to put my money in the right places.

11:1 Vertex Piston (426cc)

Stage 2 Hotcam

xr400 head gasket

Port and Polish

( thinking about intake and exhaust valves and springs? i don't know if i should or not?)

it is a 2000 and has never been rebuilt, so anything helps. I am racing motorcross, in a amatuer class.

Valve springs are actually a pretty important component that many people over look. Weak vavle springs wont allow the motor to turn proper rpm, and if yours are from 2000 they are weak. If it was me I would get a better quality piston.

looks like a good list, wiseco or JE would be my piston of choice but other than that sounds like a winner. steve

I would try to find a 450r carb, but other than that it looks good. Who are you having build your motor? I see you live in Missouri and I know a guy in KC that does great work.
