what are some free mods i can do to my 525s would removing the baffle and taking air box lid off make me any faster?

Free? Not much. The lid will help a tiny bit, the baffle maybe. I doubt you will see a difference. Well, you will in sound.

you need to re jet anyway the stock carb setup is very lean

Really? I didnt know that ...then again I havent checked the plug yet its only been 25-35 hrs and a couple oil changes so far, I knew I prolly should have. For some reason I was thinking it was rich after running down a good stretch hard commin off throttle I get some backfire action which common sense says is fuel in the exhaust that was unburned which would have lead me to believe that there was too much fuel to begin with .... I dunno though this is my first polaris and ktm motor ...

ok i just went a pulled my plug and it was perfect brown so i guess im good on the jetting lol.. And its bone stock i got 29 hours on the bike:D

Mine has always back fired, even after the complete dyno tune with a beautiful A/F ratio.
